How is the training presented?
Each of the training
programs (Residential Construction CertifiedTM
and Certified New Home SpecialistTM)
consists of two CD-ROMs and a workbook. Each CD-ROM features an
easy to use interface to navigate through high quality audio, video and
animation. Answers and notes are jotted into the workbook while completing
the training. When finished, the disks and notebook become handy reference
tools for refreshing your memory and using as sales tools in presentations
to builders and buyers.
Our training is
designed to be interactive, interesting and fun. Many thousands of CNHS
graduates have expressed how much they’ve enjoyed the training experience -
including many who felt that live classroom delivery was the only method
that would work for them. Most students describe the experience as more like
a one-on-one coaching session, without the distractions and interruptions
that often challenge the live classroom.
Studies have shown
that one of the most significant challenges encountered in live classroom
training is that retention of the information presented deteriorates to a
very small percentage in a matter of only days. In fact, in the past, when
our course was delivered only on a live basis, many students repeated the
course 2 and 3 times to refresh the information in their minds. The
extensive information, systems and strategies presented in the CNHS & RCC CD-ROM
course can be easily accessed again and again as needed to apply them in
your business.

How long does the training take to complete?
CNHS & RCC graduates
report that completion of each of the training courses takes from 10 to 12 hours. One
significant advantage with CD-ROM based training is that you can complete it
at your own pace. You have the ability to repeat sections if necessary.
We've had students complete the training in one focused weekend and others
who take months.
Is there a time limit or deadline for completing the training?
There is a 3 year time limit to finish the training, but the sooner you
complete the training the sooner you can put into place the techniques to
take your business to the next level.

How do I receive my certification?
Directions for the
online
test accompany the training. This is an open book test and there are no
trick questions. When finished with the
training, follow the instructions from the front cover of your workbook as
for the web page to visit to take the online test. We will ensure that you passed
with at least a 90% (we expect the best from our students and always get
it). Within two weeks you will receive your Certified New Home SpecialistTM
Certificate and/or Residential Construction CertifiedTM
certificate. We will notify you via email when it is on its way. In the email will be
a link to download your sample press release and CNHS and/or RCC logo for
marketing purposes.
It is important to remember that RCC is a prerequisite for CNHS. You will
not receive your CNHS certification if you have not successfully completed
the RCC course and test.

What is the test like?
Information about
the online
test is located in the workbook. It is an open book test that and there are no trick
questions. If you have carefully followed the CD-ROM's and filled out your
workbook thoroughly, you will have gathered all the answers you need to
successfully complete the certification test.
Please keep in mind
that the test is designed to make certain you have carefully completed all
the required course materials. We are not expecting you to have memorized
the extensive information presented in the course … in fact, we consider
that a waste of brain power. What’s important is that you have grasped major
concepts and are able to refer back to the training materials at later times
as you apply what you've learned to your business. Both the filled-in
Certification Workbook
and the CD-ROM’s allow you to easily refer back to
information when you need it.

Can I share my training package with another agent?
As is customary
in all professional training programs and certification courses, course
materials must be purchased for use on an individual basis. A registration
number is assigned to each student and used as verification for test
approval, issuance of the CNHS and/or RCC certification and application of CRS credits.

California) continuing education credits are only awarded upon completion of

If
your state is not listed above, there are several reasons your state may not
be approved for credit. Some states do not allow continuing education
credits for distance learning courses. Other states require that course
exams be integrated within the training. Since most students refer back to
the manual and CD-ROMs periodically as a refresher, we feel it would be
inconvenient for our students to be required to retake exams in order to
obtain the information.
We are always open to working with students to get continuing education. If
you have a contact in your state’s respective real estate commission please
don’t hesitate to call 1-800-428-1122 so that we may work together.
