Ethos, Pathos and Logos

You may recognize these three Greek words as Aristotle's three methods for persuasion in rhetoric. Of course Aristotle didn't have RCC and CNHS logos in mind when he developed his theory, but the use of those logos in your marketing is a very powerful tool for persuasion. Dennis Walsh emphasizes that we often get wrapped up in promoting our builder or a new development and forget to promote ourselves. Are you effectively promoting yourself in all your marketing? Are you working to persuade the world of your expertise as a CNHS and RCC?

More and more Residential Construction Certified and Certified New Home Specialists are finding that using the logos in their marketing helps for differentiation in their marketplace. You worked hard to earn those logos so make sure you use them!

“I work as both a new homes salesperson and have my general real estate business. I was the new home salesman of the year last year for Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties and it could not have happened without your Certified New Home Specialist training,” said Bob Ramella of Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties in Charleston, SC. Bob has consistently promoted himself as a CNHS all the way to the top.

Obviously, the key to being successful in working with buyers and builders is more than just a logo or acronym to put after your name. Ultimately, it’s the knowledge, ideas and professionalism that you bring to the sales process. That’s the difference it makes being a CNHS and RCC. Using the logos and/or initials is a good foot in the door so that buyers and builders know that you know your stuff.

Make sure you’re using the logos on:
-business cards
-brochures and fliers
-websites
-calendars, notepads, magnets and any other marketing tools you use in your business
-include the acronym and logo in email signatures along with current and thorough contact information

So that potential buyers and builders can find you online, m
ake sure that you're using the full name of the certifications on your website. Here’s a little test to see if you can be found online as a Certified New Home Specialist. Click the links below to see where you show up on the Google and Yahoo search engines:
