Initially seen as a fad in residential construction, experts now say stainless steel is here to stay. Sales of stainless steel appliances haven’t slowed and builders continue to offer stainless steel options in their homes. Additionally, the look can integrate with just about any home style and budget – that’s why builders and remodelers find they are adding stainless steel to the kitchens of homes ranging from quaint cottages to modern masterpieces. Stainless steel has been used in big budget commercial kitchens because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and ease of sanitation. In recent years, appliance manufacturers have started selling lines of consumer directed, less expensive stainless steel fixtures and appliances. While a comparable “all white” kitchen does cost less than a comparable stainless steel filled kitchen, buyers are willing to pay extra for the luxury of the look. |
